Former Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir has been sent to prison.
According to a source close to AFP, Omar al-Bashir has been transferred to Khartoum prison after the army took over the government ending his three decade reign in power.
“Last night, Bashir was transferred to Kober prison in Khartoum,” the source said indicating that heavy security has been deployed at the prison.
Bashir was ousted by the army last Thursday after four months of protests against his three decades of iron-fisted rule. The country’s new military rulers had said he was being held “in a secure place”.
