Reports by K24 indicate that 2 people have lost their lives while 16 others left injured after the car they were travelling in got involved in a grisly road accident.
The 2 died on the spot of the road accident at Chepsangor are along Nandi Hills-Chemelil Road.
An eyewitness pointed out that the accident happened around 8pm when the driver of the matatu swerved to avoid hitting an oncoming bodaboda, only to roll several times.
The passengers in the matatu are said to have been returning from Eldoret where they had attended the passing-out parade that was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While the passengers with severe injuries were rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, those with minor injuries were taken to the Nandi Hills Hospital.
The bodies of the diseased were taken to a moruary in Kapsabet.
Uhuru presided over the passing out parade at Moi Barracks in Eldoret, an institution where over 3,000 soldiers graduated from.
He told the soldiers that their career entailed continuous training as well as personal sacrifice in a fast-changing security and defence environment.
