Leaders from Central Kenya have assured Deputy President William Ruto of their support in the much anticipated presidential elections.
While addressing a congregation at Dagoretti South on Sunday, Kiunjuri told church members that DP Ruto deserves the support from central Kenya because he has stood tirelessly behind President uhuru.
Kiunjuri pointed out that leaders from the region who are opposing DP Ruto are uninformed about leadership in the block.
Kiunjuri likened Uhuru and Ruto’s friendship to that of two hunters who united to defeat a leopard, promising Ruto that he will not regret having stood behind their son Uhuru.
“Good is paid by good. There is no way a friend will rescue you from a leopard and then let that friend be eaten by the same leopard. The journey is long and a leopard is hunted by a man and his in-law,” Kiunjuri said.
A section of Central Region MCA’s have come out in large numbers to support Kiunjuris statements saying that good can only be paid by good.
“You can’t clear hurdles on my way for me and I fail to do the same for you. We understand how to repay good deeds with good deeds and we’ll do it during the next polls,” Raphael Chege Waithumbi, the MCA for Kamenu Ward in Kiambu County said.
“Majority of leaders in the region also support Ruto albeit quietly because they think he is development oriented,” he added.
