The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has given the Ethics and Anti0Corruption Commission (EACC) the go ahead to arrest and charge 6 high profile Governors over links to corruption.
According to the EACC, some of those who have recorded statements over corruption in counties have been erecting hurdles to scuttle investigations in the last four years.
As a result, the People Daily indicates that some have stalled investigations through court injunctions, therefore, delaying prosecution over graft allegations, abuse of office, failure to comply with the law on management of public funds and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
Senior EACC detectives have pointed out that after tirelessly going through every piece of information available, they have water-tight evidence to prosecute the high-profile Governors.
While one Governor is said to have been unable to explain the source of his accumulated wealth valued at over Sh100 million, another is being investigated over proper over properties built and acquired in Kileleshwa, Embakasi, Lavington and Kasarani estates, all valued at Sh320 million.
